Stained Glass Mixed Reality Opera

A collaboration between the Knight Center for Music Innovation and The VESL to supplement an upcoming opera performance with mixed reality. The March 2024 performance will contain dynamic augmented props and effects for audience members wearing Meta Quest 3 headsets.

An AR "smart assistant" powered by machine learning for training purposes. Users receive step-by-step guidance, like positioning geometric shapes in specific patterns.

A VR application designed to assess uneven force distribution during real-world rowing machine exercises to avoid injuries.


VR Stress Generator

A VR application has been developed to induce short-term stress responses (STSRs) in users. While participants interact with the virtual world, researchers can modify the environment and monitor biometrics in real-time. 

Temikki Garden

A mobile AR application to promote the emotional well-being of children during long hospital stays. Children can build, modify, and play in a living virtual garden while reminded of their accomplishments.

BPEIVerse: A Virtual Training Hospital in the Metaverse

A virtual reality simulation of a hospital tailored for Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, designed for medical professors and students to engage in interactive classes and learn how to operate costly equipment within a virtual environment.

Effectiveness of Instructing Anatomy Topics via Virtual Reality

This pilot study evaluates the effectiveness of virtual reality versus traditional in-person instruction in teaching anatomy using VR for immersive lectures.

The project explores the impact of music-specimen pairing on middle school students' immersion, recall, and comprehension in a VR experience about marine life, where musical elements accompany different marine specimens' infographics.

Dean’s Blue Hole XR Project

The Dean’s Blue Hole VR Project offers an immersive VR experience for exploring blue holes and underwater sinkholes that reveal Earth's history, climate changes, and diverse ecosystems.


Evaluating Applied Behavior Analysis Intervention Using Augmented Reality for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

This project aims to develop and validate an augmented reality application to enhance the delivery of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with a focus on automating tasks and improving therapist efficiency.
