Provost XR Awards (For Faculty)

Applications for the Provost XR Awards are open (LOI Due February 26th, 2024)

The Provost’s UMVerse Faculty Grants launches an open call to attract, select, and provide financial support to new or existing faculty projects aimed at the development of novel XR solutions and research. XR applications include projects, research, and teaching initiatives in spatial computing, virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality.

Interactive technologies such as augmented reality, spatial computing, and virtual reality are set to transform the ways in which people learn, communicate, interact, and share information. In this context, the UM XR initiative will distribute a limited number of competitive grants intended to promote the acceleration of mixed reality and spatial computing innovations toward real-world applications and interdisciplinary teaching, learning, and scholarship.

Student XR Competition (For Students)

The UM XR Student Competition is a grant offered by the provost's office that awards student teams up to $5,000 to build immersive applications and helps connect them with the resources, tools, and mentors they need to bring their ideas to life.

Applications are now being accepted for the Spring ’24 cohort. The deadline is February 12th at 5 p.m.
